A smarter way to design, build, and enjoy a pool

Ground Preparation

There are several installation options available for your Modulo pool:

Most affordable option
A 6-inch layer of compacted crushed stone (minimum 200 lbs of compaction), topped with geotextile fabric, followed by a 4-inch layer of clean ¾” gravel to ensure proper drainage.

Most stable and durable option
A 5½-inch reinforced concrete slab, providing a strong, perfectly level foundation.

Raised installation
Installation on screw piles, ideal for specific site conditions or challenging terrain.

And of course, Modulo pools can be installed fully inground, semi-inground, above ground, or in a mixed configuration to adapt to your property layout.

The Modulo Pool Shell

The first step in building a Modulo pool is the fabrication of our prefabricated steel shell—the structural core of the entire system.
And when it comes to strength, we don’t cut corners.

Compared to traditional steel inground pool walls, Modulo nearly doubles the wall thickness, creating a significantly stronger and more rigid structure. Each wall panel is reinforced with vertical structural supports and capped with a 2” × 8” perimeter beam, providing a solid, stable base for the coping and surrounding finishes.

The pool floor is reinforced every 12 inches, ensuring maximum strength and helping prevent any floor movement once the pool is filled. This reinforced structure is designed to perform consistently over time, even in demanding conditions.

Our standard exterior shell dimensions are 8 feet 6 inches wide, with lengths of up to 20 feet, offered across three series to suit different project needs:

  • Minidulo: 8’ × 9’ to 8’ × 12’

  • Midulo: 8’ × 13’ to 8’ × 16’

  • Megadulo: 8’ × 17’ to 8’ × 20’

Built to withstand Canadian winters, Modulo pool shells are engineered for long-term durability and minimal structural movement, delivering a pool that remains solid, level, and reliable year after year.

Corrosion Protection

Although the Modulo pool structure is technically shielded from rain and UV exposure—thanks to the PVC-P reinforced membrane inside the pool and the exterior cladding—we go one step further to maximize long-term durability.

Every Modulo shell is treated with a high-performance, two-component industrial epoxy coating specifically engineered for long-term corrosion resistance. This advanced protective system creates a durable barrier designed to withstand moisture, soil conditions, and the test of time.

The coating is applied to the exterior walls, interior walls, and even beneath the pool floor, ensuring comprehensive protection across the entire structure. The result is a pool shell built not only for strength, but for exceptional longevity and reliability in demanding environment

Skimmer, Bottom Drain & Return Location

One word defines this aspect of the Modulo system: flexibility.

Unlike most prefabricated pool models—where skimmers, drains, and return jets are fixed in position by the manufacturer—Modulo allows you to place these components exactly where they make the most sense for your project. This flexibility ensures optimal water circulation, easier integration with your mechanical layout, and a cleaner overall design.

From an aesthetic standpoint, we carefully position the skimmer as discreetly as possible to minimize its visual impact, preserving clean lines and a more refined look both inside and around the pool.

The result is a pool that is not only better engineered, but also better adapted to your site, your layout, and your design vision.

Reinforced PVC Membrane

At Modulo, we don’t compromise on durability or finish.

Instead of a standard vinyl liner, we use a reinforced PVC membrane, available in a wide range of colors and patterns to match your backyard design. This membrane is heat-welded and perfectly molded to fit every interior module, creating a seamless, watertight interior that looks as good as it performs.

Built for real life: yes—your pets can jump in too, without worrying about accidental damage.

To maximize comfort and protection, we install a full geotextile layer on every surface before the membrane goes in. This adds cushioning underfoot and helps protect the membrane long-term.

Thickness comparison:
Standard liner: 20 mil
Modulo reinforced membrane: 70 mil

And the best part?
Your membrane is installed in our warehouse, in a controlled environment, ensuring a clean, precise, flawless finish—before your pool even arrives on site.

Coping Options

To finish the top edge of your Modulo pool, we offer two clean and durable coping options, depending on the look and functionality you want. And of course, if your project calls for something more customized, we can adapt to your design.

1) Polyurethane Coping

A sleek, modern finish. The coping beam is coated with two layers of industrial-grade polyurethane paint, in the color of your choice, and applied in our facility before delivery.

2) Paver Block Coping

A premium, architectural look. With this option, the exterior cladding is designed to wrap up to the coping beam and stop just beneath the pavers, creating a clean and seamless transition.

Important note:

  • Paver blocks are installed on-site

  • Polyurethane coping is applied in the factory before delivery

A practical advantage of polyurethane coping

If you plan to install a fence or railing on top of the pool, polyurethane coping can make anchoring easier and more secure. With glued pavers, strong wind loads (for example on a glass panel) could potentially lift the pavers—something you definitely want to avoid.
